In the aftermath of the ultimatum delivered by the previous government of Poland, Greece experienced one of the darkest chapters in recent memory. Morale dropped sharply, and every day we witnessed citizens either abandoning the struggle entirely or seeking refuge by changing their citizenship. For a small nation like ours, unable to resist militarily, the damage was devastating. Three of our six core regions were lost, leaving us powerless, forced to stand back and watch our homeland fragmented.

But history turns its pages. With new elections came new leadership — President Mevek. In him we found not only a partner, but a statesman. What the game too often lacks — logic and common sense — he brought it into the negotiations room. What usually takes endless hours of struggle was achieved in seconds. Thanks to his clarity and decisiveness, two of our core regions were returned. For this, the Hellenic Republic extends its deepest gratitude to President Mevek and to the Polish nation for correcting the mistakes of the past. We will not forget this gesture of goodwill.

Yet one core remained, held not by Poland, but by Croatia. At this point, our Vice Country President Dimi of Greece undertook the task of opening negotiations. Croatia’s response was nothing short of exemplary. Without hesitation, without unnecessary difficulties, they were the very first to return our core region, recognizing the importance of justice and the right of a people to their homeland. This act of fairness and solidarity speaks volumes of Croatia’s leadership, and we wish to publicly thank them for their integrity and vision.

Today, thanks to the combined goodwill and wisdom of Poland and Croatia, the puzzle has been completed. Greece stands whole once again.

To both nations, the Hellenic Republic extends its heartfelt appreciation. History will record your actions not as small gestures, but as great acts of statesmanship that restored balance and gave new hope to a nation on the brink.

Now, our duty is clear: to rise from the ashes, to rebuild our strength, and to thrive as a united nation once more.
