Imperial Brazil recorded another important victory in its military campaign. Information received by the government indicated that Chile was preparing a possible attack on the Empire. Faced with the threat, Brazilian forces decided to act first.

The answer was quick. Imperial troops advanced over Chilean territory and managed to capture one of its regions, establishing a new strategic position for the Empire.

Meanwhile, the main Brazilian campaign continues in Argentina. Imperial forces continue to advance towards the Argentine capital, gaining positions and increasingly approaching the political center of the country.

The King declared:

“We will not expect our enemies to choose the moment to attack us. The Empire must be prepared to protect its borders and its people.”

With Chile now facing the presence of imperial troops and Argentina seeing its defenses pressed by the Brazilian approach, the war enters a new and decisive phase.
