The war between Argentina and Brazil is going through a new phase of uncertainty. After reassembling the battle of Comodoro Rivadavia thanks to the disorganization of the Argentine forces, Brazil again took the initiative on Monday morning, launching an incursion into the Salta region.

The Argentine response soon arrived. In an attempt to reorganize their troops and recover the lost territories, both armies faced a battle of enormous proportions: 99 million Brazilian forces against 90 million Argentine forces. The siege, which is already over two hours, keeps the development of the conflict on track.

However, Brazilian numerical superiority does not guarantee a victory. Coordination, resistance and the ability to sustain the fight will be key factors in determining the outcome. Argentina, for its part, needs to prevent organizational errors from recompromising its territorial defence.

But behind this offensive is a fundamental question: is Brazil seeking to conquer new regions and consolidate its military advantage, or is it trying to establish a strategic connection between its positions in Chile, preventing its forces from being isolated?

For now, the outcome remains open. Salta could become a turning point in the war, either by consolidating Brazilian progress or by marking the beginning of an Argentine recovery. The fact is that, after recent events, any error of coordination could alter the balance of the conflict.
