The Rise of the APP and the Miracle of Venice

Following WW4 and the fall of EPIC, the balance of power on the server changed dramatically. The alliance that had once appeared almost unbeatable was defeated, leaving Poland as the largest major power still standing.

At the same time, Poland's growing campaign of revenge against former EPIC countries created increasing concern throughout the region. In response, Slovenia and Hungary decided to establish a new defensive alliance, with Croatia joining them as a founding member.

Thus, the Adrian–Pannonian Pact, better known as the APP, was born.

The alliance's first leader was Colonel Bruce, who would later become known as Colonel Bruised. He was eventually succeeded by Martial_ant (before simping Poland), a figure who would later acquire his own collection of nicknames, including Martial_cant and Martial_spanked.

The Road to War

For the APP leadership, it gradually became clear that a Polish attack was not a question of if, but when.

One of the most important diplomatic developments before the war centered around Venice.

Poland pressured Italy into handing over the region, officially presenting the arrangement as a temporary "rental." From the APP's perspective, however, the real purpose was obvious: possession of Venice would give Poland a direct land route from which it could attack Slovenia instead of having to rely entirely on air operations.

The APP was well aware of the danger and began preparing for what was coming.

Day 374 — The War Begins

During the night of Day 374, October 9, 2025, Kamilisu(presient that time also known as KamiPooPo) and Poland unleashed its nuclear arsenal against Slovenia.

The APP immediately retaliated, launching its own nuclear strikes against Poland. Nuclear impacts appeared across the map as both sides exchanged blows, while another decisive confrontation was beginning around Venice.

The Miracle of Venice

On paper, Poland possessed the greater military power. Yet at that moment the Polish war machine appeared unusually unstable, and the APP managed to achieve what many had considered unlikely.

The Polish "horde" was stopped at Venice.

Against the odds, APP forces secured the battle and defeated the Polish forces there, turning Venice into one of the alliance's most celebrated military victories.

Rumors from the period even claimed that Poland had exhausted its available aircraft during the fighting and was forced to source additional planes from South Korea.

Whether every battlefield rumor was true or not, the result at Venice was undeniable: for one battle, the APP had demonstrated that the Polish military could be beaten.

But winning a battle was very different from winning the war.

The Empire Strikes Back

Despite the success at Venice, the APP simply did not possess enough military power to withstand Poland indefinitely.

The Polish army pushed deeper into APP territory. Hungarian and Slovenian core regions were devastated during the campaign, with buildings and infrastructure destroyed as the fighting continued.

Eventually, two of the alliance's most important cities fell.

Budapest was taken. Ljubljana was taken.

The Miracle of Venice had proven that the APP could fight back, but Poland's overwhelming strength gradually turned the wider conflict in its favor.

Then, after extensive destruction and the capture of the two capitals, something unexpected happened.

The Unexpected NAP

Poland suddenly offered the APP a Non-Aggression Pact.

After everything that had happened — the nuclear exchange, the Battle of Venice, the destruction of core regions and the capture of Budapest and Ljubljana — the offer marked an abrupt change in the conflict.

The NAP was accepted.

As part of the aftermath, Jayapura and Tel Aviv were taken by Poland, while open hostilities between Poland and the APP came to an end.

The APP had failed to defeat Poland in the wider war, but its resistance had nevertheless produced one of the defining moments of the conflict.

The Miracle of Venice showed that even the strongest army on the server could bleed.
