Eclesiar has fixed a long-standing bug in the way Congress ideology affected tax ceilings.

Previously, ideology modifiers were calculated incorrectly against the 25% base ceiling. The new system calculates the ceiling by adding the ideology modifier directly to the base.

This affects three taxes: Import Tax, VAT and Work Tax.

Communist representation can now raise tax ceilings significantly, while capitalist representation can lower them. The exact ceiling depends on the share of seats held by each ideology.

Importantly, existing tax rates are not being recalculated immediately. The new ceilings apply to new proposals, while existing rates will be checked during the next Congress election on 25 September 2026.
