Hello, Citizens!

After a long period of planning, development, testing, and rebuilding, Eclesiar 2.0 is now available to everyone as a Public Open Beta! 🎉

This is the largest transformation Eclesiar has received so far, introducing a completely redesigned interface, new political possibilities, expanded country and organization systems, improvements to newspapers, support for additional languages, and the foundations for several major upcoming mechanics.

🧪 Why is this an Open Beta?

This public test is extremely important for us to understand the real status of Eclesiar 2.0 when used by the entire community.

Internal testing can only take us so far. We now need to observe performance, stability, usability, balancing, and potential issues under real conditions.

Please keep in mind that Eclesiar 2.0 is still an Open Beta. We have not yet decided whether the game will permanently remain on this version immediately after the test or whether we will temporarily switch everyone back to Eclesiar 1.6 while we continue working on the new version.

Your experience and feedback during this period will help us make that decision.

⚠️ Important Information

📱 Android users:
If you experience problems moving around the map and the game repeatedly triggers a refresh action, please update the Eclesiar application through the Google Play Store.

🔄 Returning to Eclesiar 1.6:
You can switch back to version 1.6 at any time by opening the Settings tab.

🐞 As this is an Open Beta, you may encounter bugs, incomplete features, visual inconsistencies, or balancing issues. Please report anything unusual so we can investigate it.

📋 Eclesiar 2.0 Patch Notes

🎨 Completely Refactored Layout

The game layout has been completely rebuilt to provide a more modern, organized, and accessible Eclesiar experience.

This redesign establishes a new visual and technical foundation that will allow us to continue improving the game more efficiently in future updates.

🏛️ Political Ideology Balance

☭ Communism

🌟 New Feature — Individual Import Taxes by Country

Countries with at least 35% Communism can now customize their import tax separately for each country.

This allows communist countries to remain economically restricted while creating special trade relationships with selected allies or strategic partners.

Additional changes:

  • NPC production debuff reduced from 0.50 to 0.35

  • Extradition of citizens and military units is now permitted

Why are we changing Communism?

Communism is currently one of the least-selected ideologies, including among countries that want to maintain a more closed economy.

The reduced NPC production penalty addresses one of the ideology’s greatest disadvantages, while individual import taxes allow communist countries to open their economies selectively to political and economic partners.

🏗️ Building Balance and Regional Studies

🪖 Military Base — Level 4

⚠️ This effect is not currently implemented.

A Level 4 Military Base will unlock a new university study for citizens of the country who are located in that region.

🕵️ New Study — Secret Agent

Players who complete the Secret Agent study will be able to spy on military bases belonging to any country, including their own country, to search for nuclear weapons.

By paying a cost in Gold and Tickets, the Secret Agent can attempt to defuse all nuclear weapons stored inside the targeted Military Base.

The targeted country will have a chance of being alerted and discovering the nationality of the player who:

  • Spied on the Military Base

  • Defused the nuclear weapons

Why introduce Secret Agents?

The current nuclear system offers very little counterplay. Countries targeted by nuclear weapons often feel that they have no meaningful way to react before an attack happens.

With the university system, players themselves can become the countermeasure.

The espionage system is designed to be proactive. Countries may hire foreign players, neutral players, or even citizens of the targeted country to locate and defuse nuclear weapons.

The possibility of being discovered creates an element of risk. A failed covert operation could generate diplomatic consequences, political disputes, or even trigger a war.

🏭 Production Field — Level 4

⚠️ This effect is not currently implemented.

A Level 4 Production Field will unlock a new university study for citizens of the country who are located in that region.

♻️ New Study — Scavenger

Players who complete the Scavenger study will gain the ability to scrap equipment for 120% of its average market value.

Equipment can only be scrapped when its average market value is no more than 30% above its default value for that quality.

Default equipment values:

  • Q1: 10 Gold

  • Q2: 40 Gold

  • Q3: 160 Gold

  • Q4: 640 Gold

  • Q5: 2,560 Gold

Why introduce Scavenger?

Eclesiar already contains several mechanics that help control Gold inflation, but there are very few systems capable of dealing with equipment inflation.

The Scavenger study introduces a new way to remove excess equipment from circulation while creating another specialized economic role for players.

☢️ Nuclear Weapons System Rework

⚠️ This rework is not currently implemented.

The nuclear weapons system is planned to receive a complete rework:

  • Nuclear weapon production costs will be increased by 25 times

  • Nuclear weapons will completely destroy every building in the targeted region

  • Every building in neighboring regions will lose one level

  • Launching a nuclear weapon will trigger a new global event

  • Nuclear weapons will become visible on the world map

Why rework nuclear weapons?

Nuclear weapons currently feel too repeatable and too similar to ordinary missiles.

Our goal is to make them dramatically more expensive, much rarer, and significantly more impactful. Launching a nuclear weapon should feel like a major global event with enormous political, military, and economic consequences.

In other words: nuclear weapons will become far more costly and far more destructive.

🪖 Military Unit Improvements

  • Military Units can now be owned directly by a country

  • Military Units can now have custom descriptions

🗳️ Political Party Improvements

📰 Newspaper and Article System Updates

  • Articles can now include a shorter description

  • Articles can now be previewed before publication

  • Articles can now be saved as drafts

  • Articles can now be scheduled for future publication

💬 Your Feedback Matters

This Open Beta is not simply a preview. It is a real test that will help define the immediate future of Eclesiar.

Please explore the new version, test its systems, report bugs, and tell us what feels better—or worse—than version 1.6.

Depending on the results of this test, we may continue operating with Eclesiar 2.0 or temporarily return to Eclesiar 1.6 while additional improvements are completed.

Thank you to everyone who supported the game, tested previous versions, reported problems, shared ideas, or continued playing while Eclesiar 2.0 was being developed.

Welcome to the Eclesiar 2.0 Public Open Beta. 🌍⚔️🏛️
