A day in my irl work as a medical doctor in a hospital
I looked at him, while he looked at something else through the hospital window.
The silence was touchable. He asked me with a light voice, that was about leave this world, if I could stay. Said I would try to come back after I had medically assessed my other patients.
He had no family, no close friends, surrounded only by strangers - me and the nurse.
When I came back I sat with him and hold his hand, his last breath and time of death was written down to 01:37.

I have been sitting next to many people on the deathbed. They have all something very important in common. They dont ask for their trophies to hold nor material things to see one last time in the very end. They all ask to have people they love next them or friends or in worst case strangers. In the end what really matters is not material things but relationships.
No one will remember you for the things you had, the car you drove or the watch you carried. They will remember how you made them feel.
Thats whats real..
That is what it is all about..
