The opening week of World War IV in the world of Eclesiar has been defined by nuclear strikes, rapid territorial shifts, and the collapse of long-standing diplomatic agreements. The conflict began on Day 308/307, triggered by Poland’s decision to join the Western European Treaty (WET) alliance — a move that provoked the Eclesiar Partnership of Independent Countries (EPIC) into a full-scale military response.
Within hours of the declaration, more than 50 nuclear warheads struck Sweden, WET’s host nation, in a devastating opening attack.

Operation Viking Fall : The Fall of Stockholm
Commanded by the United States, a leading EPIC member, Operation Viking Fall launched from Klaipeda in Lithuania. The operation’s bold advance led to the rapid capture of Stockholm, a high-risk move that has so far paid off — with the Swedish capital still under EPIC control by the end of the first week.
---
United Kingdom Front : Sweden expelled
At the start of the war, parts of the United Kingdom were under Swedish colonial control. The decisive Battle of Norwich saw Poland lead WET forces against EPIC, but EPIC emerged victorious. In the days that followed, EPIC forces eliminated the last Swedish presence in the UK by capturing Plymouth, ending Sweden’s foothold in the British Isles entirely.

Lithuanian Theater : Back and Forth
Lithuania’s core territories saw fierce back-and-forth fighting. Poland claimed early gains, while U.S. forces gradually withdrew — only to retake Vilnius in a successful counteroffensive. Control over the region remains fluid.
---
Asian Front : Siege of Pakistan
In Pakistan — a WET colony — EPIC members Slovenia and Bosnia pushed WET forces to the brink, confining them to a final stronghold in Asia.
---
South America : Kicking the Last GAUSS
Chile and Brazil removed the last Swedish influence from northern Argentina, erasing WET’s presence from the region entirely.
---
Africa : Cape Town Liberated
In southern Africa, U.S. forces expelled Portugal — a WET member — from Cape Town, disrupting WET’s logistical network.
---
Free Italy, and the collapse of France
Italy, a colony divided between both alliances, became a hotspot of shifting control. Slovenia lost much of its hold over the peninsula but dealt a devastating blow to France, taking the majority of its territory within the first week.
---
Portuguese Nuclear Power
Despite territorial losses abroad, Portugal retains its fully developed core territories, serving as WET’s main nuclear hub.

The Korean Ultimatum and Global Escalation
On the final day of the first week, Korea — supported by China, Bulgaria, and Serbia — issued an ultimatum to Hungary, an EPIC member, demanding withdrawal from the Philippines. EPIC refused, breaking its Non-Aggression Pact with Korea and its allies in order to defend its member state.
This action transformed the conflict from a multi-front war into a global showdown, pitting EPIC — the strongest alliance in Eclesiar — against the combined forces of the second and third ranked alliances.
