Russian culture is a marvelous garden, revived by prayers, military feats and deep spiritual contemplation. It does not imitate foreign models, but, accepting the best, always preserves its original, holy Russian spirit.

In the foundations of our cultural building rest three great pillars: Orthodox faith, devotion to our native land and unchanging slackness. Our literature – from the ancient L’topis to the brilliant works of Mr. Pushkin – is always looking not for earthly benefits, but for the highest truth and salvation of the soul. In the stone architecture of the old cities, the long and sad people's palace, the bright colors of the Palekh painting reflect the vast expanse of the Russian land and the depth of the national genius.

To preserve these venerable ancestors, to glorify the talents of our land and to affirm the integrity of our national foundations is the sacred duty of every Russian person.
