In an official announcement released this morning, the URL Coalition confirmed the incorporation of Ireland as a new full member of the alliance, bringing the total number of countries in the political bloc to ten.
The decision was welcomed by the organization’s representatives, who highlighted Ireland’s strategic and diplomatic value on the global stage. According to the statement, its admission responds to a “shared commitment to principles of stability, cooperation, and mutual defense.”
With this addition, the URL Coalition is now composed of the following states: Argentina, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Italy, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
From the organization’s general secretariat, officials emphasized that this growth does not imply any change in the nature of the bloc. “The URL remains a coalition based on collective protection and cooperation among sovereign nations. We do not pursue expansionist objectives or geopolitical imposition,” the official document states.
For its part, the URL Coalition concluded its statement by reiterating its founding principle: “to grow through cooperation, not domination.”
