3 days. That’s how long it has now been since Italy declared a trade embargo against Germany. On September 13th at around 9 PM CET, President “Brandos” launched his next coup: the quadrupling of the minimum wage from 5 to 20 ITL.

However, the real climax came afterwards: he emptied the state treasury — the equivalent of about 230 gold — resigned from all offices, and left Italy politically as well as economically paralyzed until the next elections in about 2 weeks.

The ITL exchange rate has already dropped by around 15%, and many factory owners have lost an important market. Anyone with a basic grasp of mathematics will notice that there are still more than 10 days left before the new government can address this chaos.

If everything were to continue as it is now, it would in fact mean that the ITL would ultimately only hold a value of 0.60.

Now, this is of course rather unlikely, but it illustrates the massive economic damage that will result from “Brandos’” obstinacy.

In addition, new players joining during this time will quickly stop if they either work for starvation wages in AI-run businesses or cannot find any employment at all due to the lack of available jobs.

Time will tell what the future holds, but this should make every citizen of Eclesiar aware of how important cooperation and trust are, so that something like this may never happen again.

3 Tage. So lange ist es nun her, dass Italien ein Handelsembargo gegen Deutschland ausgesprochen hat. Am 13. September um ca. 21 Uhr MEZ folgte dann Präsident "Brandos" nächster Coupé: Die vervierfachung des Mindestlohns von 5 auf 20 ITL.

Seinen Höhepunkt erreichte das ganze aber erst danach: Er räumte die Staatskasse, umgerechnet rund 230 Gold, trat von allen Ämtern zurück und lässt Italien somit politisch sowie wirtschaftlich handlungsunfähig, bis zu den nächsten Wahlen in rund 2 Wochen.

Der Kurs des ITL hat bereits einen Einbruch um rund 15% erlitten, viele Fabrikbesitzer haben einen wichtigen Markt verloren. Wer die Kunst der Mathematik ein wenig beherrscht, dem wird auffallen, dass noch über 10 Tage verbleiben, bis sich die neue Regierung um dieses Chaos kümmern kann.

Würde nun alles wie gehabt weitergehen, bedeutet das de facto, der ITL würde am Ende einen Wert von lediglich 0.60 besitzen.

Nun ist dies freilich eher unwahrscheinlich, doch verdeutlicht es die massiven wirtschaftlichen Schäden, die durch "Brandos" Eigensinn entstehen werden.

Zudem werden die neuen Spieler, die in dieser Zeit hinzukommen, schnell aufhören, wenn sie entweder für Hungerlöhne in von KIs geführten Betrieben arbeiten oder erst gar keine finden, aufgrund des mangelnden Angebots an Jobs.

Es wird sich zeigen, was die Zukunft bringt, jedoch sollte dies jedem Bürger Eclesiars bewusst machen, wie wichtig Zusammenarbeit und Vertrauen sind, auf dass so etwas nie wieder passieren möge.
