In any conflict zone or occupied territory, the so-called alliances policy defines strategies and tries to subject soldiers to corrupt and passenger governments. However, the Gospel of Matthew presents us with a completely different political scenario: the establishment of an eternal Celestial Government that challenges the corrupted structures of this world. When Jesus began to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven, He was not seeking vows or positions in human offices, but calling deserters to change their loyalty. As we read in Matthew 6:33, the express order of the Supreme Commander is direct: "Then seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto them.". For the soldier enlisted in Christ's army, true politics is not based on party manipulation or maneuvers, but on unconditional obedience to the laws of the one governing the universe.
