We believe a government should be judged by what exists when its term is over.

A new railway line. A better highway. More reliable electricity. Faster public services. Stronger universities. Better hospitals. More productive industries. New technologies developed at home. A military prepared for the future. Cleaner and more resilient cities. More opportunities for ordinary people.

These things cannot be achieved through slogans alone.

Our approach is simple. Every major national problem should be placed in front of the people who understand it best. Engineers should help design infrastructure. Economists should shape economic policy. Scientists should guide research. Military professionals should determine military requirements. Doctors and public-health experts should shape healthcare policy. Urban planners should design cities. Technologists should help build the systems of tomorrow.

Politics sets the national direction. Expertise determines how we get there.

We will not reject an idea because it came from the political left. We will not accept an idea because it came from the political right. We will judge it by evidence, feasibility, cost, consequences and results.

And when something does not work, we change it.

The objective of this five-year mandate is not to create the appearance of progress. It is to create progress that can be measured.

At the end of five years, the people will have the final word.
