ARGENTINA- BRASIL CONFLICTO
_
The Argentine Republic has again been forced to respond militarily to the Brazilian forces in Comodoro Rivadavia, following an air offensive that contradicts the neutrality declared by Buenos Aires.
The Brazilian decision to resort to force raises serious questions about its political objectives and the cost of prolonging a confrontation that threatens to deepen regional instability.
Although Brazil would have achieved a considerable advantage during the first few hours, an initial advantage does not amount to a definitive victory. Argentina continues to defend its sovereignty and to demonstrate that its neutrality should not be confused with a renunciation to respond to aggression.
The Brazilian Government should consider that each military advance can also have economic, diplomatic and strategic consequences. The superiority on the battlefield alone does not guarantee the success of a war.
From MINEvar Newspaper, the conclusion is clear: it is still too early to celebrate a victory. The outcome will depend on the decisions of both countries and their ability to sustain the conflict.
The war continues, and Comodoro Rivadavia is today the stage of a dispute whose result is still to be written.
