No people should regard war as their only path, and no government should forget that behind each conflict lies the responsibility to protect the well-being and future of their nation.

Peace agreements should not be mere words spoken for time, nor signed documents that lose their value when circumstances change. A peace agreement represents a commitment between the parties, an opportunity to stop confrontation and build a relationship based on mutual respect.

We therefore make a firm call to all nations: that peace agreements are respected, that the word "committed" has value and that no difference becomes an excuse to return to weapons.

Dialogue is not a sign of weakness. Sitting to negotiate does not mean giving up the dignity or legitimate interests of a people. On the contrary, it requires responsibility, political maturity and the will to find solutions that avoid further suffering.

We call on the leaders of Ecclesiar to keep diplomatic channels open, to respect the commitments made and to seek peaceful mechanisms to resolve their differences. Where there is a dispute, there is negotiation, there is distrust, there is a will for understanding, and there is an agreement, there is responsibility to do so.

We also invite citizens not to feed hatred among brotherly peoples. Political rivalries should not be transformed into irreconcilable enmity among their inhabitants. Differences between Governments can be resolved through diplomacy, without making people on the other side of the border an enemy.

Peace is not supported only by signatures. It is supported by facts, confidence and the daily decision to do what has been agreed.
