Here we go again!
Another Saturday, another round of patch notes, this time for 13 → 19 September.

Last week gave your character Attributes. This week is about how wars end: new ways to make peace, a lifeline for nations that lost all their land, and a shortcut home for a lost capital. Two changes already had their own announcements, on tax ceilings and single-goal wars, so they only get a short recap below.

Peace Terms: New Ways to End a War

The Surrender law is now called Peace terms, and it covers every way a congress can end a war by vote. It is offered for any declared war, whether your country is attacking or defending. There are four kinds of peace:

🕊️ Armistice. The war ends and no territory changes hands: every region occupied in this war goes back, and a 7-day non-aggression pact is signed. Either side can propose it, and both congresses must approve it. It replaces the old Cease War law, which is no longer offered (a Cease War that was already being voted still counts).

🏳️ Surrender. Same as before: you give up the regions the other side claimed and already occupies. Giving up everything they claimed needs only your own congress; giving up one of two regions needs theirs too.

⚔️ Demand (new). The side that holds the ground can now ask for it. You demand the regions you claimed and already occupy: they become yours for good, everything else you hold goes back, the war ends and a non-aggression pact is signed. The other congress votes on it too, so a demand only passes if they accept it.

🔁 Trade (new). When each side occupies a region it claimed from the other, both can keep one: one region for one region. Everything else goes back, the war ends, a non-aggression pact is signed, and both congresses vote. It needs the defender to have claimed one of the attacker's regions with Add war objective, and to occupy it.

💰 Surrenders stay free. An armistice, a demand or a trade costs the same as the old Cease War.

The panel is the map after the peace:

🗺️ In Eclesiar 2.0, open your country page, go to Congress, press Propose law, pick Peace terms and choose the war. Each country gets a column under its flag, and every region at stake sits in the column of the country that will keep it. At first every region sits with its owner, which is an armistice.

👆 Click a region to move it to the other column: give up regions they claimed and it becomes a surrender, keep regions you claimed and it becomes a demand, one each way and it is a trade. Under each region you can read who owns it today, and a note tells you when the other congress has to vote too.

🔒 A region that cannot move yet stays on screen with the reason next to it, such as "only once you occupy it" or "claimed by another war".

🖥️ Eclesiar 1.6: Cease War is gone from the proposal form, and Peace terms there drafts the armistice and your own surrender. Demands and trades are drafted in Eclesiar 2.0, and 1.6 shows every kind of peace in the congress.

Nations in Exile

What happens to a country that loses every region? Until now, not much: its citizens scattered, and the only war it could declare was for its own lost land. From this week, a nation that rules no land at all gets help to survive and a way back.

📜 The Exile Accords. A country that rules no region is now a Nation in Exile. Every country that holds one of its rightful regions becomes its host, and in each host its citizens pay 50% less work tax and its goods pay 50% less import tax. The relief applies in every region the host rules, not only in the lands it took. The accords end the day the exiled nation rules a region again, its own or a conquered one.

🔍 Where to see it. On the country page, the Political Situation tab of an exiled nation lists its hosts with their tax rates before and after the relief, and each host shows the nations it shelters. When the relief applies to you, an Exile relief tag appears next to the tax on the Work screen, on job offers, when you sell from your storage and on the market.

🏴 Landless countries can declare war on anyone. A country without land could only fight to recover its own regions. Now it declares war like any other country: against any country that holds land, with no goal, or with one or two of the target's regions as goals.

👑 Reconquest of the capital. If the only goal of a war is your own rightful capital, holding the capital alone wins the war: 1 conquest instead of 3. Name a second region and the normal quota comes back. The same goes for a defender whose only war objective is its own capital, and it works for any country whose capital is in foreign hands, not only for nations in exile.

Why this matters:

Until now, stopping a war early meant a Cease War that handed everything back, or a surrender. The side that was winning had no way to stop and keep what it took except waiting for the deadline, and two countries that each held something could not swap. With Peace terms, a congress can put on the table the peace that matches the map: a truce, an ultimatum or a trade.

And a nation wiped off the map used to be a dead end. Now its citizens pay less tax while they regroup abroad, it can declare war like anyone else, and its capital is a single conquest away. Losing a war should hurt, but it should not be the end of your nation's story.

Attributes: First Adjustments

💪 Strength now grows with your power level. Your Strength points are added to the 500 base damage before your power level multiplies it, not after. At power level 100, which doubles the base, 150 points now add +1,500 damage to every hit instead of +750. The Attributes panel still shows the value before your power level: +5 per point.

🎯 Accuracy points now add in full on top of your equipment. The 90% limit was applied to your whole hit chance, so from +15% of equipment accuracy up, Accuracy points added nothing. The limit is gone and the points always count: 75% base, +18% from equipment and 75 points now make 100.5% instead of 93%. At 100% you never miss.

🏗️ Construction Efficiency now shows everywhere. It always added to the site's progress, but the Site Report, the top builder ranking and the Bob the Builder medal counted your material donations without it, and the donation preview showed less than you got. Both now include it, and MAX no longer loads a basket the site refuses near the end. Donations made before the fix keep their old value in the report.

Other changes this week

War & diplomacy

🚩 Single-goal wars need 3 conquests instead of 6, as announced in Small adjustment to small wars. Wars with two goals, or none, still need 6.

🖥️ Eclesiar 1.6: the invasion button on the map no longer stays hidden until you click a region.

Battles

Battles no longer freeze when a war starts. When a new war or tournament match began, the server could hold every hit for up to 50 seconds, which is where many "The server did not answer" messages came from. On the first full day after the fix, not one of more than 45,000 hits took longer than 5 seconds.

🏆 Tournament matches end at the fifth win. When the server fell behind, a match that was already decided could keep settling extra rounds. It now ends as soon as a team wins 5 of its 9 rounds.

⚖️ The front line follows the points. On the battle map, the line between the two sides now moves when the minute's points are delivered, not with every single hit, so it shows who is really winning the round. With map quality set to Lite, you now see the hits too.

📊 War reports load reliably. Coming back to the game while a war report was loading could leave it stuck on "Could not load report", and Try again did nothing. Both are fixed.

🚫 Clearer "can't fight" notices. In the wrong place, the notice shows where you are, where the battle is and where you need to be to fight for each side. Below the required level, it shows your level next to the one needed. Both let you Watch the battle instead. Out of energy, it shows your energy live.

🪟 Detached Panels: a battle opened as a panel now shows the last hit of each side and your own.

Economy

🧾 Tax ceilings. As explained in Tax Ceilings Fixed, congress ideology now moves the tax ceilings in percentage points. A reminder: nothing has been recalculated yet, but on 25 September, when the new congresses take office, any tax law above its new ceiling is lowered automatically.

⛏️ New Gold Mine page. It opens on your route to the mine, with the travel options and the shift side by side: until you reach the mine only travel is active, and once you are there only the shift is. It also says what mining really blocks: travel, fighting, trading on the market and donations. You can still work and train.

🏭 Companies. Fire a worker straight from the roster on the company card, and posting a job offer no longer reloads every section of the page.

🏋️ Training. The item you donate stays selected between sessions until you run out of it.

🎓 University skills warn you before they switch off. You now get a notification, also sent as a push, 24 hours before a skill deactivates for lack of donations, and another one when it does. The University screen also shows a "Deactivates in ~X" countdown.

Quality of life

🔔 Notifications are now grouped by day, covering the last 15 days, and each one shows the art of its area, in the history and in the live card at the top of the screen.

✍️ The biography editor now has italic and links, and keeps your line breaks when you save. Text alignment was removed.

📖 The Grand Bazaar and the University now show the whole description of items and skills instead of cutting it off.

🔢 Tapping a number field puts the cursor after the value, ready to edit.

📱 On phones and tablets, opening a searchable list no longer pops the keyboard up over the options.

🤝 The alliance renewal badge in the country picker now sits under the country name instead of being cut off.

💬 The Discord promo no longer shows up once your account is linked, and it now makes clear that being on the server is not the same as linking your game account.

🧰 For tool makers: your API key now works on 42 endpoints, up from 21, adding player and NPC profiles, country details, elections, parties, military units, holdings, businesses, constructions, world events and nukes. They are all documented on the API page.

🌍 Eclesiar now speaks Filipino and Urdu, bringing the game to 39 languages. Urdu is shown right to left.

That's all for this week! Draft a peace, plan a comeback or just go dig some gold, and tell us what you think. See you on the battlefield!
