COMMON RESISTANCE
WORLD WORKERS: IT'S TIME TO JOIN
A call to the communist and socialist parties of all countries
Capitalism has no borders.
Capital crosses continents in search of new markets, investments and labor. Large companies work simultaneously in several countries, while financial institutions move huge volumes of wealth around the world.
In view of this, a question needs to be asked:
if capital is organized internationally, why should workers remain divided by national borders?
This is when the Communist Resistance makes a call to communist parties, socialists, popular organizations, trade unions and workers' movements around the world.
A CLASS THAT PRODUTES, A WORLD THAT BELONGS TO POOR
Billionaires and large economic groups have an extraordinary capacity to influence the economy and, in certain circumstances, politics as well.
They have companies, financial participations, media and privileged access to power centers.
But it is necessary to avoid simplification: we do not believe that some isolated individuals literally control every event on the planet.
The problem is bigger.
It is the economic system itself that concentrates power and wealth.
A company can own factories in several countries. An investment fund may have holdings in companies from different continents. Large economic groups can influence governments, markets, and institutions.
Meanwhile, millions of workers remain dependent on selling their labor force to survive.
This contradiction has an international dimension.
CAPITAL IS INTERNATIONAL
A Brazilian worker can produce for a company whose headquarters is on another continent.
An Asian worker can manufacture components used in products sold in Europe.
An African worker can extract resources used by the industry from developed countries.
A Latin American worker can produce food and raw materials for the world market.
The productive chains connect workers who may never meet.
Capital has already built this connection.
We must also build solidarity between those who work.
WE ARE NOT ENGAGED FOR BORNING IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES
For centuries, workers have been taught to see each other as competitors.
The Brazilian worker is put against the Argentine worker.
The European against the immigrant.
The worker of one country against the worker of another.
But who benefits when workers compete among themselves for lower wages?
Who benefits when companies transfer their production to regions where labor is cheaper?
Who benefits when workers are convinced that their true enemies are other workers?
The answer must be investigated in concrete economic relations.
International solidarity does not mean erasing differences between peoples.
It means recognizing that workers of different nationalities may have common interests in the face of exploitation.
A CALL TO SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS
So the Communist Resistance addresses the communist and socialist organizations of the world:
It's time to expand cooperation.
It's time to share experiences.
It is time to study together the transformations of capitalism.
It is time to discuss the concrete conditions of each working class.
It is time to build solidarity in the face of attacks on social and labor rights.
It is time to defend peace among the peoples.
It is time to fight racism, colonialism and all forms of domination.
It is time to place the emancipation of workers at the centre of political debate.
We do not advocate that all organizations think exactly the same way.
There are historical, strategic and theoretical differences between the various socialist movements.
These differences should be discussed.
But divergence doesn't have to mean isolation.
The unit can be built from common goals.
PROLETARY INTERNATIONALISM
Proletarian internationalism is based on a simple idea:
the emancipation of workers should not depend on nationality.
When workers from different countries face similar problems, international solidarity becomes a political tool.
One strike can inspire another.
A labor conquest can serve as an example for another country.
An organizational experience can be studied in another context.
A defeat can teach as much as a victory.
The Internet and modern communication technologies have made this possibility even greater.
The challenge is to turn this connection into organization, study and concrete solidarity.
AGAINST THE COMPETITION BETWEEN PEOPLE
Nationalism can be used to transform workers into instruments of dispute between states.
We defend another perspective.
A Russian worker doesn't have to hate a Ukrainian worker.
A Brazilian worker doesn't have to hate an Argentine worker.
A European worker doesn't have to hate an African worker.
An American worker doesn't have to hate a Latin American worker.
Those who work have a fundamental common experience:
they produce the wealth of society, but do not necessarily control the main means by which this wealth is produced and distributed.
This reality deserves to be studied.
THE FUTURE CANNOT BECOME A MYNORY
We do not accept that the future of humanity is determined solely by the interests of those who have enormous concentrations of wealth.
We want a society in which workers have effective participation in economic and political decisions.
A society in which technology serves to improve human life, not just increase profits.
An economy geared to social needs.
An international policy based on cooperation and self-determination of peoples.
A society without exploitation of one class by another.
This goal will not be achieved simply by speeches.
Study, organization, popular participation and collective construction will be necessary.
A CALL TO THE WORLD
O Communist Resistance calls for communist and socialist parties, trade unions, popular organizations and workers from all countries to strengthen the ties of international solidarity.
We do not want a union based on submission to a single party, state or leadership.
We want a union based on the understanding that no worker must face alone a system that operates internationally.
Capital is organized internationally.
Large companies are organized internationally.
Markets connect internationally.
Then we must also strengthen our solidarity internationally.
This is the time to study.
This is the time to organize.
This is the time to build bridges.
This is the time to turn solidarity into collective action.
WORKERS FROM ALL COUNTRIES:
UNIAM.
COMMON RESISTANCE
For the international solidarity of the workers.
Against exploitation and domination.
For the emancipation of the proletariat.
For building a socialist society.
